Managing Call Signs

HeliPass stores a lot of information about an operator's call signs; this information is critical to accurate calculations across all HeliPass services.  Much of the information is based on the airframe assigned the call sign.

To reach the call sign management page:

  1. On the main Helipass website click the "Assets" option at the top of the page
  2. Within the drop down menu select the "Call Signs" option

You will see list of the operator's current call signs.  For operators with a large number of call signs, the search field can be used to search the list for a specific call sign.

To add a new call sign to the system, click the "Add Call Sign" button in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

To delete a call sign, click its "delete" button.

To edit a call sign, click its "edit" button.  The selected call sign's information will be displayed on the right-hand side of the page.

The HeliPass information for each call sign includes:

  1. Call sign name (will be blank when adding a new call sign)
  2. Transport Type - This field allows you to specify the type of transport being used; this field is manually updated, simply keying in a new value will allow it to accept it here.
  3. Description - a description of the call sign
  4. Maximum seating capacity of the airframe
    1. Note:  please use airframe maximum--this will help keep reports consistent
  5. Average cruise speed (used for ETA calculations)
  6. Average fuel burn rate (used for fuel usage calculations)
  7. Average available payload
    1. This will set a baseline for payload on all flights; actual payloads are calculated based on flight actual input
  8. The maximum weight the airframe can accommodate (used in flight actual calculations)
  9. The weight of the airframe (used in flight actual calculations)
  10. Saves the new/edited call sign
  11. Cancels all changes
