Generating Push Notifications for Helipass Mobile Passengers
Overview: This document gives a detailed explanation of how Helipass administrators can send push notifications to passengers using the Helipass Mobile application. Some of the push notifications that will be sent out to passengers will be automatically sent to the mobile user automatically. These automatic push notifications are also outlined by this guide.
Manually Generated Push Notifications
Sending notifications out to a filtered group of passengers is located on the Personnel page of Helipass.
If a Helipass user has permissions to do so, a button that says "Send Notification" will appear on the right side of the Personnel page.
Clicking this button will open up a window that allows a the user to apply certain filters to narrow down the audience of the push notification.
These filters include Start Date, End Date, Origin, Destination, and Company accompanied with the desired message to be sent.
Once the desired message and filters are applied, selecting the "Send Notification" button will push the message to all Helipass Mobile users that it applies, too.
Another way that push notifications can be sent to passengers with the mobile app is by applying notes to the location. Updating the notes will send a push notification to users of the change while also displaying the message within the app for all future flights that are going to or from that location.
To add notes to a location, navigate to the Locations page under the Assets tab.
Find the location that you wish to add the message to and select "Edit."
This will pop up a new window for the user to edit that locations information. At the very bottom of this window is the notes section.
After typing in the desired message, select "Save."
Automatically Generated Push Notifications
Outside of the manually generated notifications that passengers will receive, there are numerous other notifications that are automatically sent to passengers to keep them informed of their flight and personal information.
The list of notifications that are automatically sent to a Helipass Mobile passenger are:
- Anytime a passenger is added to a flight manifest
- Anytime a passenger is removed from a flight manifest
- Anytime a passenger is transferred from one manifest to another
- Anytime the flight status for that passenger's flight is changed
- Anytime the planned departure flight time for that passenger's flight is changed
- 30 days before a passenger's courses and ID's are set to expire
- The day a passenger's courses and ID's expire
