How-To: Create an Ad Hoc Flight

Overview: When a flight that was not initially scheduled needs to be created, it is labeled as an ad hoc flight. This guide will take you through the steps to create an ad hoc flight.

To begin, you will need to go to the Manifests page under the Manifest tab.

Once there, click on the "+ Trip" button located on the right of the screen.

Clicking the "+ Trip" button will create a pop window like the one below.

Fill in the required information (required fields will be outlined in red), and proceed to select the flight route at the bottom.

Use the drop down to locate all stops of the trip and select "Add" once these are selected.

Estimated time of departure and arrival will be calculated based on Lat/Long distances and average air speed of the call sign selected.

The available payload may be input per leg based on pilot feedback.

Legs may be re-ordered utilizing the arrows on the right side. This will recalculate flight time along with ETD and ETA.

To the right of the Route Information section header, there is a check box to control if the flight times will be automatically updated or not when changes are made to the flight times. This box is checked by default, it can be unchecked to prevent recalculating.

Any boxes outlined in red are required inputs and you will be unable to save until these are all filled. The other fields are not required to create the trip, but it is best to input all the fields that are known.

If more information is needed to understand how to fill out the "Add Trip" window, see the article titled Overview: Add Trip Pop-up Window from Manifests Page.

Now that the flight is created, passengers, cargo, and requests can be added to the manifest. For more information on how to add these to a manifest, refer to the respective articles in this guide.
