Configuration of Muster Points
Overview: Helipass is making improvements to the functionality presented on the Work Site page (formally called the POB page). With these improvements, users will be able to configure many aspects of their location such as Living Quarters, Lifeboats, Muster Points, ICS Roles, Positions, and Projects.
The key benefit to having the location configured for these assignment options is the ability to automate the assignments passengers receive when they arrive on the location. With the new Asset Configuration piece in place, you will be able to associate specific lifeboats to their muster points and vice versa. This will allow you to have a filtered list when giving passengers these assignments so only relevant options are available.
Check out the other Screen Step user guide, Configuration of Incident Command Structure, to see how ICS Roles can push the automation of passenger assignments even further!
Configuring Muster Points
With the right permissions set on your profile, you will see the new Manage Asset configuration button on the top right of the Work Site area for a location. This icon is shaped like a gear and, when selected, will open up the Asset Configuration popup window. To begin configuring the muster points for a location, select the Muster Point tab.
Once on the Muster Point tab, select the "+Add" button on the top right to create a new muster point.
When creating a new muster point, you will be able to select:
- a unique name
- if it is currently available for passenger assignments
- a primary or alternate muster point
- add notes for the muster point
- associate the lifeboat(s) that are used for the muster point
After all of the muster point information is entered, hit the save button. Do this same process for all of the muster points on your location. This includes the muster point stations that will be designated for the emergency response team.
Lifeboats need to be configured before they are able to be associated with a muster point. Note that the lifeboat configuration also has the option to associated muster points there. If lifeboats or muster points are associated with each other in one tab, it will automatically appear as an association in the other.
It would likely be beneficial to create all of the lifeboats or muster points at one time, then move on to creating the other so the associations can quickly be made.
Availability - If a muster point is not marked as available, it will not appear in the drop-down list when giving passenger's their assignments.
Is Primary - When a muster point is set as a primary, it will appear in the primary muster point drop-down options. If it is not set as a primary, it will appear in the secondary or alternate muster point drop-down options.
Associated Muster Points - Muster points need to be configured prior to associating them with a muster point. More than one lifeboat can be associated with a single muster point. Applying multiple associated lifeboats may prevent the field from auto-filling when assigning passengers, however, the list will be narrowed down to show only those lifeboats to be selected from.
Hitting save, close, or delete will take you back to the Muster Point overview tab in the Asset Configuration modal.
Here you can review all muster points that have been created as they will appear in alphabetical order. To view more of their details, click the arrow on the top right corner of the tile to collapse the tile.
The muster point availability status can be toggled on or off from the muster point trip tile. After the change for the availability has been made, select the "Save" button for changes to be remembered.
To edit a muster point that already exist in the list, simply hit the pencil icon on the top right corner. It will redirect the popup to the edit muster point view for the changes to be made before hitting the "Save" button. To delete the muster point follow the same steps but hit delete instead.
