February 2025 Updates
System Updates
Helipass Users - New Helipass kiosk rolled out at the newly opened PHI Houma terminal
Helipass is excited to announce the successful Go Live of the new PHI terminal in Houma! Alongside the terminal opening, we rolled out our new kiosk hardware, featuring a sleeker and more modern design than the previous model.
Building the new kiosk has been a massive effort, requiring thousands of hours of work—from designing the hardware to re-coding the software for compatibility with new scanners and printers, and troubleshooting issues during the initial roll-out. However, the Kiosk 2.0 project is far from over!
Moving forward, the Helipass team will continue refining the kiosk workflow, making it even more streamlined and user-friendly. Additionally, we will work on the logistics of replacing older kiosks in the field with the new model. Stay tuned—these new kiosks will be arriving at more locations soon!
HPA Users - Tenant codes now being included in the bar code of the boarding pass and bag tag printouts to assist with the HPA workflow
Passengers who check in at a Service Port kiosk receive printed boarding passes and baggage tags. These documents contain bar codes that are scanned by HPA (Heliport Automation) devices to track passengers, bags, and cargo throughout the service port up until departure. However, these bar codes previously did not indicate which customer the passenger reservation belonged to, meaning base personnel had to ensure they were using the correct HPA scanner for a specific tenant.
With recent terminal mergers in Houma, multiple HPA customers will now be operating within the same terminal. While personnel must still select the correct HPA device for scanning, Helipass has taken the first step toward a future where only a single HPA device is needed. The first update ensures that bar codes on printed boarding passes and baggage tags now include customer tenant identifiers, helping to streamline scanning processes in future updates.
Flight Planning Users - New Flight Planning data points added to the reporting ETL and API
Flight planning in Helipass enables users to build out helicopter manifests, capture essential details for passengers, cargo, crew, and aircraft, and perform key calculations such as weight and balance, center of gravity, and other flight planning metrics.
With all relevant data points now fully integrated into the system, Helipass has completed the final step of making this data accessible through the ETL and API. Flight planning customers can now extract this information for historical reporting and analysis, allowing for deeper insights into past flight operations and improved planning for future trips.
Helipass Users - Annual update to the Helipass SSL Certificate completed
Helipass has successfully completed the annual renewal of the SSL certification for our Single Sign-On (SSO) clients. This renewal is a critical part of maintaining secure authentication and ensuring that users can continue accessing Helipass via SSO without interruption. Since SSL certificates expire each year, Helipass works closely with SSO customers to keep these certifications up to date, maintaining a seamless and secure login experience.
Bug Fixes
Worksite Users - Fixed issue of lifeboat assignments getting deleted when a lifeboat tag is removed from a passenger in the Arriving Preset section
Worksite users who manage Lifeboat Tags on their facility reported an issue where removing a Lifeboat Tag assignment from a passenger in the Arrival Preset section would also unintentionally clear out their associated Lifeboat Assignment. This led to additional work for users who had to manually re-enter the Lifeboat Assignment details.
This issue had previously been addressed for the POB List, but the Arrival Preset section continued to clear out the lifeboat assignment. With this fix, Worksite users can now remove a Lifeboat Tag without losing the passenger’s Lifeboat Assignment, ensuring a smoother and more accurate process for managing arrivals.
Worksite Users - Issue causing some location's Worksite pages to load extremely slow has been resolved
A handful of locations reported that their Worksite page was experiencing extremely slow load times. After investigation, the issue was traced back to the new ICS Role mismatch warnings in the Worksite banner. For locations that did not use ICS Roles or did not configure Muster Point and Lifeboat assignments based on them, the page was inefficiently downloading unnecessary data, leading to slow performance.
The Helipass development team has now optimized how data is loaded on the Worksite page, ensuring that the ICS Role warnings only process relevant information. As a result, Worksite pages now load significantly faster for locations that do not use the ICS Role configurations.
Worksite Users - Opening the Date/Time editor for the Arrival Date in the Arrival Presets area
Worksite users reported an issue with the Arrival Time calendar popup in the Arrival Preset area, where the date picker was inaccessible. While the modal did appear, it was incorrectly popping up behind the rows below it, preventing users from selecting a date.
The Helipass development team has since addressed the issue by ensuring the calendar popup remains in focus and displays properly. Users can now once again select dates from the modal as intended.
Helipass Users - Issue with search boxes not allowing users to type and filter the items in the drop-down menu
Some users reported issues with two critical search boxes on the Helipass website that were not allowing text input. After investigation, the issue was traced back to browser versioning conflicts in Chrome and Edge—some users could type in Chrome but not Edge, while others experienced issues in both browsers.
Given the frequent use of these search fields, the Helipass team prioritized a fix. Users can now:
- Type in the location search box when adding legs to a trip route in the Edit Trip modal.
- Search for passengers when creating events on the Schedule View Page.
With this fix, users should no longer experience disruptions when searching in these areas.

Worksite Users - Users can once again use the "Reset To Last Know" button to reset passenger's preset assignments in the Arrival Presets area
Worksite Users - Arrival Sheets for passengers needing orientation for a location using the new Orientation Date feature now displaying the correct status
Do note that the Orientation flagging issue was isolated to the new Orientation Flagging feature. Locations using the pre-existing core functionality for Orientation were not impacted by the bug.
